Motivational Drive, Seminars, Literature etc

Registration of Eye Donors, filling and maintenance of eye donor cards

Screening, Selection and Registration of Cornea transplant patients

Technical wing for collection of donated eyes within 6 hours of death

Storage of eyes in eye containers for up to 72 hours

Transplantation to the selected patients within 72 hours by members of the technical wing.

Over 33,000 will cards and 1700 registered patients are being maintained.

Cost of all the above activities are borne by REDO without any financial burden on the patients.
Expectation of REDO from this Seminar:

Establishment of eye banks by Social Medical Officer in areas under his domain.

Development of Eye Donation Movement by a team consisting of SMO, Eye Doctors and Volunteers.

Registration of Donors and maintenance of will cards.

Selection of eligible patients with their registration.
-
Development of a Technical Team for obtaining Eyes of a donor within 6 hours of his death.

Obtained Eyes to be stored in containers.

Eye containers to be dispatched to REDO by fastest possible means (Transportation is FREE Internationally)
REDO’s Contribution:

All motivational literature, will cards, registration cards will be supplied.

Training wherever required will be provided at REDO’s premises in Rawalpindi.

Containers for packing/storing of eyes shall be provided.
